Another tournament in the books for the Chesapeake Bass Anglers. Sunday could not have been a better day to have a Bass tournament. The boys launched at 6:30 am to calm beautiful weather with water temps in the mid 70's. We had a new winner for this tournament. Kelly Comer got his first win of the year with a bag weighing in at 8.12lbs. Kelly also won Big Bass honors with a largemouth bass that weighed 4.12lbs. Kelly made a run to the North East river and spent his whole day working rip rap and a under water ditch. He reported catching his fish on a texas rigged green pumpkin crazy legged chigger craw and a Bomber flat A crankbait in firetiger. Kelly also reported losing a couple of "big fish" on the Bomber crankbait that did'nt affect the outcome for him. Finishing in 2nd place was Arrie Beyers with a bag that weighed 7.09lbs. Arrie ran up the Susquehanna River to catch his fish on a Rattle Trap. Finishing in 3rd place was Tom Bavarro with a weight of 3.12lbs. Tom also ran up the Susquehanna River and reported catching his fish on a topwater bait. We had another safe and successful tournament. Not everyone caught fish but all had a great time. It was a tough day for all on the water with the Bass still not in their fall pattern but also not in their summer pattern either. So the fish are scattered and hard to pattern. I think the bite is going to turn on within the next week or two. Again congratulations to Kelly for a well fished tournament and a great win in tough conditions.
