Well summer time fishing is here for sure! We had great weather conditions Sunday after it dropped alot of rain all day Saturday. We had a high tide to start fishing on Sunday. The water temp had dropped from 88 degrees on Friday to 78 on Sunday. The guys reported that the top water bite was on in the early morning hours but soon went away after the sun got up high in the sky. They also reported alot of fish getting off. Thats frog fishing for you. Our winner in this one was Rick Naver who had 13.13 lbs. This was Rick's first win with the club. Great job Rick! He reported catching his fish on a Spro Bronze Eye Frog and a buzzbait. With his biggest a 4.04 lb largemouth coming on the frog. Rick said he had his limit by 9:00am. Coming in 2nd place was John Hansen with 8.15 lbs. John caught his fish on a senko and a jig fishing structure in the form of wood and under water rock piles. In 3rd place and holding onto his points lead in the Angler Of The Year race was Nelson Mejia with 7.14 lbs. Nelson also said he caught his fish off of structure with a senko style stick bait. Nelson edged out Rick for the tournament big bass honors by 3 ounces with a 4.07 lb largemouth. All in all another great day of fishing. It was great to see Rick's name at the top of the leader board and to see John back on track after a slow start this year. Get ready boys I think things are getting ready to shake up in the next few months of fishing!
